Sort of. I understand a electric dryer needs a 240 VAC plug that cannot fir into a 120 VAC outlet. I also know that even a 240 VAC can have a bad line in the outlet and the electric dryer will still “RUN” with 120 VAC yet cannot HEAT unless the load receives 240 VAC. If L1 is disconnected L2 will start the electric dryer motor and it will run and tumble but cannot heat. I appreciate all you do and again, my literalistic tendencies can get the better of me, especially with testing.

Question 5 on Dryer Overview Quiz: WHAT TYPES OF DRYERS “RUN” ON 120 VAC? Technically the answer should be BOTH will RUN, turn on etc. but only a gas dryer will OPERATE and heat properly. So This question I got wrong based on wording. I did not find the term run in the provided reading to describe operate or function properly. Can you help clarify this quiz question and answer please? Thank you.
