    Thank you Scott. From the Sealed System Diagnostics part 2, I thought it could be a low side leak, but I was confused to why the condenser temp is low if the compressor is extremely hot. I then thought it could be a high side leak as the refrigerator has been unplugged for a week and perhaps air got into the system, so would that make the compressor keep trying to pump air and that is why it is hot with condenser temp being low?

    Make sense, thank you Mr. And Mrs. Samurai. I see it would be impractical to test the voltage drop of heating element due to space constraint.

    To your pop quiz, I believe we can also test for continuity or voltage from R to OR to check for an open in the control leg.

    I understand that if ohm measurement fail due to an open, we can assume the load is bad. But in this example, the load was not open and we assumed that the load was good by getting the expected ohm measurement across the load. So shouldn’t we investigate further by measuring the voltage drop across the load before assuming the problem is elsewhere?
