Roger that Sam…understand no specific rule here. Sorry for the slip up calling you Scott last night. I sometimes lose things between my mind and the keyboard.

And what is the reason again for using gauge instead of absolute in this case? I want to be sure I have this down properly in my notes. Thanks Scott…your help is greatly appreciated.
September 24, 2020 at 12:37 am in reply to: Refrigeration….Just when you thought it was safe to be here; I’m Baaaaaack..! #20210Hello Team Samurai,
Sitting here on 23 Sept at 11:27 PM and am in need of some guidance/clarification. I am at the end of the first video from Module 3, Unit 4 in Practical Sealed System Thermodynamics, Part 2. At almost the 30:00 min mark of the video, Scott put up a slide Results and Conclusions. He states that we measured a voltage drop on the evap therm that corresponds to a -17 degrees F on a 134a system. Can you please show me what you did on the Danfoss app to get the 1.14 inHG vac reading. I plugged -17 into the Danfoss and my numbers are way different. I got 28.38 in Hg. All along my numbers have been very close to yours and I attributed the small differences to changes in the Danfoss app. But this isn’t even close and I am a little concerned that I overlooked something. Please advise..Thx

Another question please..I am going through the Module 3, Unit 4 exercises..the first one on Applying Evaporator Split..I was correct in my answer of about -20F for my design evap coil saturation temp. But the values I get when I plug into the Danfoss app are slightly different than Scott’s on-screen answers. For the 134a system, I pulled an answer of 12.91 as opposed to Scott’s 13.14. For the 600a system, I pulled down 7.12 as opposed to Scott’s 7.47. I reset my elevation to 0 to be sure. Is this just due to changes in the Danfoss app…? I am also using AR4 as my GWP setting on the app. I do realize the app has changed some since the release of this video…thanks again..Darren

Another question has formed in my mind…watching the Practical Sealed System Thermodynamics video…the term Cap Tube separation is mentioned as a possible reason for the shift in the vertical line down to the Evaporator Coil…what does Cap Tube separation mean..? Thx

September 13, 2020 at 8:19 pm in reply to: Refrigeration….Just when you thought it was safe to be here; I’m Baaaaaack..! #20152Good evening,
Well, we made it through the hurricane despite a direct hit. I have a follow up question to an answer ya’ll provided me awhile back. Sam said that Scott was likely referring to a Thermocouple clamp like the Fluke 80PK-8 in the Module 3 Refrigeration Thermodynamics videos. I am curious about Scott’s opinion of the reliability of the tool. I have read several reviews and the major complaint is always the same. The instrument is not sturdy or well constructed and frequently breaks and becomes unusable. Fluke provides replacements as the thermocouple is not repairable but they just don’t last. Thoughts on this or potential alternatives that may be better constructed..? This is disappointing for a Fluke tool. ThxDarren

Third, can the Danfoss App be downloaded onto multiple devices..? For instance, can I download onto my laptop and an iPad..? Thanks for your help…again…:)August 18, 2020 at 9:02 pm in reply to: Refrigeration….Just when you thought it was safe to be here; I’m Baaaaaack..! #19566Thanks Sam…appreciate the follow up..

Also, I went to the Danfoss web page..which app am I looking for..? Is it the Ref Slider…as always, appreciate the assist..Thx

I ask only because I see where the quizzes are OPTIONAL……:)
