Between the videos in unit 10 and 11, both cover looking at the PTC in the circuit with the start and run winding. In one diagram it shows that when the split phase motor has started the PTC reacts and opens. The start and run windings are described as changing from being in parallel to in series. I don’t understand this because the circuit looks like it would still be in parallel when it diverts through the capacitor. Why is it considered in series?
