Can you expand on the thoughts about what is happening on the heat generating from an added resistance like a bad connection and how much heat it generates. Seems that a lower resistance would heat up more than the original load. Because it has less resistance it’s closer to an almost solid connection. I understand that that would be the case at full voltage and I understand because of voltage drop we no longer have full power to either the element now the loose connection. So I’ve tried to figure a way to remember what to do first. I need to understand how to calculate the voltage drop and understand the formula to calculate it as well as the wattage calc.
It would help if the ohms pie chart I was looking at had the correct formulas on it. Not everything on the internet is accurate or true.
