Question about equivalent resistance ….. do we use it in the field ? If yes can you give me a example

Hello sam if I want to troubleshooting control board components do I can ? Like diode or bridge or capacitor? If yes should I use continuity?

    in reply to: Question #24796

Thank you for the clear response

Hello sam I want just be sure from what I’m thinking let’s say we Insufficient spec and I want to measure voltage drop but I don’t have resistance for that load so here I can turn off power and measure resistance and then I will calculate the voltage drop? …. Here in this case I have only current it will working for me? Thank you

I found a lot which one you propose to me

    Thank you so much

Hey Sam Thank you for previous answer
And another questions about gas dryer
    Complain about no heat…
First thing how to test gas valve coil? And how to test flame sensor…?
    And how to test ignitor?
For example when I push to start the dryer If I don’t hear the click that means the ignitor bad ? I just I don’t understand this? Gas valve coil testing resistance? And other components like flame sensor and ignitor how to test them thank you previously I’m waiting from you

Hey Sam When I make live voltage test for a load should I push to start the machine and put my leads or just connect the machine with power supply and make my measurements…..
And if I make my measurements from the control board for a load inside the machine eeps just with connect power… For example I want to test drain pump and I find in control board eeps and put my leads to measure voltage should I put the washer in drain cycle and stay measurements thank you I’m waiting from you

Yes now I understand thank you so much my best teacher

Hello sam so I can use jumper wire for only switch and loads
What about thermostat or thermal fuse…. For example thermostat I measure voltage drop and measure current to determine if the load is defective ? Or measure resistance you said measure amps to know if circuit is open or not
And for example we have series circuit in this series circuit we have 4 loads so first I measure if there is voltage and then check the current if there is no current we know there is open circuit so to see where is this circuit open I have to check voltage one at the time this loads and when I know where is circuit open then I use jumper wire to determine if really defective sorry my English not perfect I try my best and I learned a lot of from the course

You mean I can determine which load it’s open just from control board? And can I use jumper wire for any loads? For example thermostat or thermal fuse
