So in summary, half splitting a 240 volt heating element is always a live test.
I mean what is being used as “ground chassis” for the measurement demo? I know he says unpainted metal surface or neutral lug on terminal block however it was not shown in demo.
Where is the black test lead touching ? The video only shows the red test lead connecting with the wire or the spades. Is it touching the neutral lug of the terminal block? It would have been useful to see where the black lead was completing the circuit with.
Oh I got it! Motor runs but heating element is not running! So when slide said Kill power and restore power that didn’t refer to hitting the push on button on the dryer but actually plugging in the machine?
I think Samurai had mentioned that scenario earlier where occasionally a customer has a dryer that tumbles with no heat – might be that one of the 2 pole breakers was tripped. In this case its more than flipping the pole breaker on, you are literally disconnecting it from the heating element and only running the appliance on 120 volts literally.
Okay the schematic is the FIRST thing you look at not the serial number. I will look into that on Appliantology. Thank you!
Yes that’s what I thought for #14. Thanks!
Yes please.
No need to reply – I retook the quiz and passed with 100%. Thanks!
Great thanks! I will finish up the other ones I missed on this quiz.
