    Question #10: You’re testing a micro switch in a live, 12 V DC circuit. The switch is in its normal state. You place your meter probes on the COM and NO terminals to measure voltage. What voltage will you measure on your meter if the switch is working correctly?

    I was wondering if I could get some help to better understand why the answer is 12VDC and not 0VDC. Wouldn’t I need to know if this is a NC or a NO switch? Thank you.

    Hi,

    I am also having difficulty with this question. I do understand that the safety would have a VD of 120v since its an L1 & N circuit and there are no other loads in series with it but I can’t seem to understand if current will travel through the ignitor instead of the booster or vice versa and why. It looks to me as if the current would (shunt) travel through the detector (switch) instead of the main so there would be no VD across the main since no current is passing through it. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
