Hello Susan,

I do not know if this is common across all (or most) states; however, in the state of Texas, I am going to need to complete a state exam to be licensed as a “Residential Appliance Installer” which includes the license to repair appliances.

The questions appear to come from the NIC 2023 book which is actually allowed to be used during the state testing. My test will be in Houston, Texas.

My question is are you familiar with the state test? If so, do you think the material covered in the core and advanced courses will be a good prep for this test? If not, do you have any recommendations for preparation — e.g., should I read the NIC or maybe skim and scan? (i.e., I have not seen the book as it takes a week to ship from Amazon, but it is almost 1000 pages).
