So in a good connection there is amperage, but with no resistance there is no voltage drop across it,
E*I=P
0 volts*7.5 amps=0 watts
With the increased resistance it adds a voltage drop to the equation and creates power.
That cleared it up tremendously and reminded me how often I should refer to Ohm’s law.
