All capacitors are open circuits and, conversely, open circuits can be capacitors (for details on this, MST Academy students can watch the webinar recording on Voltage Measurements, Loading Meters, Ghost Voltages, and Triac-controlled Neutrals).

Most techs know that capacitors store a charge. Techs who have taken the Master Samurai Tech Core Appliance Repair Training Course understand how they do this and also know that capacitors block direct current. But capacitors are also used in DC circuits. How can capacitors be used in DC circuits if they block direct current?
